One man fatally shot in Eastover

A Lower Richland shooting left one person dead Sunday, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies responded to shots fired just before 5 p.m. on Megan Court in Eastover and found a male who was shot in the upper body, Lt. Curtis Wilson said in a news release. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died, Wilson said.

One person was detained, Wilson said, but no other details had been released early Sunday night.
