Man stabbed after punching wife over food argument, officials say

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC An argument over fast food turned dangerous when a Columbia man punched his wife and she stabbed him in return, investigators say.

Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department responded to the incident on Ranch Road off Decker Boulevard just after 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to a media release. They found a man laying on the ground outside the home.

The man was injured after an argument with his wife about food, according to the Sheriff’s Department. The wife wanted to go to Church’s Chicken and the husband punched her and knocked her out, and when she came to, she grabbed a knife and stabbed him multiple times in the upper body, the release says.

The man’s injuries were not life threatening. EMS transported the couple to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital.
