South Carolina Department of Transportation officials announced that they will be closing the center and right lanes of I-77 northbound near the Shop Road exit Thursday afternoon.
SCDOT officials said road workers will be performing emergency pavement repairs at mile marker 7, which is just north of the Shop Road exit. Approximately 150-feet of deteriorating roadway will be repaired during this time. The left lane will remain open during the repairs.
Officials said they hope to have the repairs completed and all lanes reopened later Thursday afternoon.
Motorists planning to travel in the area are advised to use caution while traveling in the area and to be on the lookout for workers.
