Columbia police investigating death of man at Queen Street residence
Columbia police are investigating the death of a man after he was found outside of his Queen Street residence Friday morning, officials say.
Mario Dione Kelly, 34, of Queen Street was found on the front porch of the home of a relative. An autopsy early Friday indicated that he died from blood loss as a result of a laceration on his head, according to a news release from Richland County Coroner Gary Watts. The circumstances of his death remain under investigation by the Columbia Police Department.
No other details were included in Watts’ release Friday afternoon.
Officials said they received reports of a dead man outside of a residence in the 900 block of Queen Street. Investigators were on the scene Friday attempting to gather evidence.
