Columbia police have charged three suspects and are looking for a fourth in connection with a Saturday evening shooting that wounded one, officials said.

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook said LaDarren Daquan Brown, 20, has been charged with attempted murder, unlawful carrying of a pistol, failure to stop on police command, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana in connection with the investigation.

Holbrook said Dominick Marquil Lewis, 24, and Terrone Jaiquae Anderson, 19, were also taken into custody and charged with attempted murder and failure to stop on police command.

Holbrook said the arrests stem from a shooting that occurred in the 3000 block of Truman Street, near West Beltline Boulevard, at 9 p.m. An officer patrolling in the area heard several gunshots and observed a car speeding away from the area.

After initiating blue lights and sirens, Holbrook said the suspect vehicle attempted to evade the pursuing officer before the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a brick wall in the 2500 block of Waites Road, near Two Notch Road.

Four male suspects fled the vehicle on foot, but officers were able to apprehend Brown, Lewis and Anderson, Holbrook said.

Holbrook said further investigation revealed marijuana and two guns inside of the vehicle.

When officers returned to the scene where the gunshots were first heard, Holbrook said they located one male victim with a gunshot wound to the arm. He was taken to a local hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Holbrook said investigators are attempting to locate the fourth suspect. If anyone has information regarding the shooting, they are urged to call Crimestoppers at 1 (888)-CRIME-SC.
