Boil water advisory issued for poultry plant in West Columbia

West Columbia city officials said a poultry plant near Sunset Boulevard is under a boil water advisory after a water main break Tuesday morning.

The plant is in the 300 block of Sunset Boulevard near Jarvis Klapman Boulevard, officials said. No other water customers have been placed under the advisory.

Officials said city crews are working to identify the source of the leak and repair it. In the meantime, motorists in the area are urged to find alternate routes and be one the lookout for workers operating in the area.
