‘Boil water’ advisory lifted for Lincoln Street in Columbia’s Vista

istockphoto.com

Retailers, restaurants and residents on Columbia’s Lincoln Street in the Vista no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking or cooking, city officials said Saturday around 10:30.

Following a flushing of the system, bacteriological tests showed the system is safe to use for ingesting, city officials said.

A 6-inch water main break Thursday night prompted Columbia Water Works to issue a traffic notice because of repair work, then a boil water advisory.

The water main break occurred on Lincoln Street between Lady and Gervais streets.
