Richland County deputies looking for credit card fraud suspects

Richland County deputies are searching for two suspects they say stole a victim’s credit card information and used it to make a false card to use for purchases.

Sheriff Leon Lott said after the suspects stole the victim’s card information, they created a clone card which was used to make two separate purchases totaling $500 at a grocery store in the 4700 block of Hardscrabble Road on Saturday. .

Lott said the first suspects is described as a black male in his late teens to early 20s. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants at the time of the incident. The second suspect is described as as a black female in her late teens to early 20s. She was wearing a gray sweater with a lime-green shirt underneath.

Lott said it is unclear when or where the victim’s card was compromised. The sheriff urged all residents to be aware of their surroundings and to check their monthly statements for any unusual charges.

Anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call Crimstoppers at 1 (888)-CRIME-SC.
