Deputies searching for suspect who tried to steal used-car tire from car lot

Richland County deputies are requesting the community’s assistance in locating a suspect they say is wanted for theft from a motor vehicle.

Sheriff Leon Lott said the suspect attempted to steal the tire of a used vehicle at a car lot located in the 2100 block of Two Notch Road, near Baldwin Road, just after 9 a.m. Sunday.

Lott said the owner of the business caught the suspect in the act and was able to take a picture of the suspect just before he fled the business.

If anyone has information regarding the suspect’s identity or whereabouts, they are asked to call Crimestoppers at 1 (888)-CRIME-SC.
