Columbia Fire Department to host third annual ‘Curing Kids Cancer Fire Truck Pull’

The Columbia Fire Department will be hosting its third annual “Curing Kids Cancer Fire Truck Pull” event on April 9 and is now accepting applications for those interested in participating.

The event will put teams of 10 people against each other to see who can pull a 35,000-pound fire truck in the fastest time, Columbia fire officials said.

Each team will pull in honor or in memory of a child affected by cancer. All of the proceeds raised through the event will benefit the Cancer and Blood Disorders Clinic at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital.

The event will be held on Saturday, April 9, at 10 a.m. at the Columbia Fire Department Headquarters, located at 1800 Laurel St., Columbia, S.C. 29201.

Those who are interested in registering for the firetruck pull can find all registration forms at www.curingkidscancer.org, or by downloading and mailing in the registration form attached to this article.
