City holding community meeting, wants input on new zoning regulations
Columbia is asking for residents’ input as it rewrites its zoning and land development laws.
Columbia Planning and Development Services is hosting a community meeting at 6 p.m. Feb. 17 at Earlewood Park to hear from residents about new plans for zoning regulations, according to a city news release.
The city began rewriting the ordinance in 2014 after city and Richland County officials heard from community members and began to shape long-term plans for growth, the release said.
“The rewrite will ensure the city’s regulations are aligned with those plans, reflect contemporary zoning best practices and are more user-friendly,” the release said.
