The first of three Republican presidential candidates coming through Sun City Hilton Head this week will appear at a rally Wednesday morning.
Jeb Bush was expected to speak at 11 a.m. at the Pavilion inside Sun City to kick off his South Carolina bus tour in advance of the Republican primary on Feb. 20. Bush finished fourth in the New Hampshire Republican primary Tuesday with 11 percent of the vote, according to CNN. The gathering is open to Sun City residents only.
Bush is one of three candidates to visit Sun City this week and one of five making stops in the Lowcountry this week.
U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, will speak at a town hall in Magnolia Hall Thursday morning. Rubio fell to fifth in the New Hampshire primary a week after finishing third in the Iowa caucus. Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who finished second behind Donald Trump in the New Hampshire primary, will hold a town hall at the Pavilion Friday afternoon.
Elsewhere, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will make campaign stops in Beaufort and Hilton Head Island on Thursday morning, while U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, will preach at Community Bible Church in Port Royal on Sunday.
