Wintry mix, freezing rain could fall in Columbia Monday
Friday afternoon brings a little warmth to the Columbia area, but it won't last long as a cold front moves through the weekend, potentially bringing freezing rain Monday morning.
Friday will be mostly cloudy, with a few spots of sunshine bringing a high of 47 degrees, dropping to a low of 32 Friday night. Saturday promises to be Sunny, but still a little chilly, with a high of 45. Saturday night, however, will have a low of 22.
The chill does let up Sunday, which is predicted to have a high of only 37 that drops to a low of 26 Sunday night. That low temperature, mixed with precipitation moving into the area, is predicted to produce a wintry mix of rain and freezing rain Monday morning.
That rain will persist throughout the day Monday, Monday night and into Tuesday afternoon, which has a 50 percent chance of precipitation with a high of 56 and a low of 37.
Sunny skies and warmer temperatures resume Wednesday afternoon, which will have a high of 61 and a low of 34.
