Lexington Police Department designates Internet purchase exchange location

The Lexington Police Department has designated an Internet purchase exchange location so that customers and sellers can have a safe place to exchange internet purchases, Chief Terrence Green said Friday.

Green said the designated exchange location is at the Town of Lexington Municipal Complex located at 111 Maiden Lane. The designation comes after Lexington Police Department Facebook followers highlighted the need for such a location within the city.

The designated exchange location was selected because it is easily accessibly from Maiden Lane and there is an exterior video camera on the building which records that area of the parking lot 24-hours a day, Green said.
