Still a chance of freezing rain Monday, with promise of sunshine Wednesday
As stormy weather moves through the Columbia area, bringing the slight chance of freezing rain, Wednesday is expected to be sunny and clear, weather officials predict.
Although officials said the chance of freezing rain will only last until about 10 a.m., they are expecting the rain to persist throughout Monday afternoon. That chance of rain increases to about 90 percent Monday evening, which could also bring thunderstorms.
The rain will persist until Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. when temperatures will reach a high of 65. Tuesday night will drop to a low of 41 as the rain moves out.
Officials said Wednesday will bring sunshine and a high of 61 degrees, while Wednesday evening will drop down to the high 30s again. Officials predict this clear weather pattern will continue throughout the weekend.
