Boil water advisory issued for Manse Street

Columbia city officials have issued a boil water advisory for water customers located near Manse Street Monday afternoon.

Officials said water customers located in the 1300 block of Manse Street, between Water Street and Colonial Drive, are advised to vigorously boil their water for one full minute prior to drinking or cooking. Any residents near the affected area who have experienced a loss in water pressure should also boil their water.

Any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes, officials said.

Officials said the city experienced an 8-inch water main break that could result in the bacterial contamination of the water.
