Candidate filing open for Eastover mayor, council elections

Candidate filing has opened for the town of Eastover’s April 12 election for mayor and two town council seats.

Filing for the seats will close at noon March 14. Interested people can fill out an application at Eastover Town Hall, 624 Main St.

The filing fee is $100 for the mayor’s race and $50 for town council. Candidates also must file the appropriate ethics forms.

The mayor’s annual salary is $11,400. Council members are paid $4,200 annually.

Eastover Mayor Geraldine Robinson is planning to run for re-election.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 12.

Voter registration applications can be completed online at www.scvotes.org, in person at 2020 Hampton St., Columbia, or mailed to the Richland County Board of Voter Registration at P.O. Box 192, Columbia, SC, 29202.
