Former Camden officer charged for watching porn, touching himself in public park while on duty

South Carolina Law Enforcement Division officials said agents have charged a former Camden police officer after he allegedly touched himself while watching porn on his cell phone in his patrol car in December.

Officials said Marshall Lee Hardin II was charged with misconduct in office, which carries a maximum penalty of up to ten years in prison upon conviction.

An arrest warrant filed in the investigation states that on Dec. 13, 2015, Hardin was in his marked patrol vehicle at Woodward Park, located at 82 Ballpark Road in Camden, and was watching “adult pornography on his personal cell phone while rubbing” himself through his pants.

The warrant said Hardin then allegedly exited his vehicle and pulled his genitalia out of his pants and stroked himself two times before putting his genitalia back in his pants. He then entered a public restroom in the park to finish ejaculating, the warrant said.

Hardin provided a written statement to investigators corroborating the incident and was taken to the Kershaw County Detention Center, SLED officials said.

The case will be prosecuted by the Fifth Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
