A Pelion woman has been charged with felony DUI involving death after a Lexington County crash forced another woman into labor and the baby died a few days later, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened at 12:40 p.m. Feb. 13, officials announced Monday. Andalyn Mills, 31, was driving north on Two Notch Road when she crossed the center line and struck another vehicle head-on, according to Highway Patrol.

A woman in the other vehicle was 28 weeks pregnant, officials said. Her fiance was driving, and they were both wearing seat belts. The collision forced the woman into labor, and the child died Feb. 16.

Mills was denied bond at bond court Monday morning, officials said. She’s currently confined in the Lexington County Detention Center.

She previously has been charged with misdemeanor hit and run with property damage, driving without a license, following a vehicle too closely, using license plates other than vehicle issued, an uninsured vehicle fee violation, a seat belt violation, and numerous other misdemeanors, according to a background check.

Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
