SCDOT extends road closure period for Peeples Street

South Carolina Department of Transportation officials said Peeples Street will be closed for an extended period of time due to recent inclement weather and concrete curing times.

Officials said the portion of Peeples Street between from Monticello Road to Elmon Street was originally scheduled to reopen Friday. However, due to recent weather conditions, officials said they now anticipate that portion of the roadway to be reopened on March 3.

Officials said detour routes will remain in place to guide traffic until the road reopens.
