One injured in shootout in Publix parking lot

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC A shootout in the Publix parking lot on Hard Scrabble Road left one bystander injured Saturday night.

Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department responded to the incident in the 4600 block of Hard Scrabble Road just after 9 p.m., according to a news release.

The victim had been struck in the upper body during an exchange of gunfire, and was transported to Richland Memorial Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The identity of the shooter or shooters is unknown at this time.
