PAALS UN-GALA will be 7 p.m. Saturday at the S.C. State Museum, 301 Gervais St. Event will feature food, beverages and entertainment but with a more relaxed and casual atmosphere than a gala. Proceeds will benefit Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services. Tickets are $60 today and $75 after at www.paals.org/un-gala.
TASTE OF THE TOWN AND BENEFIT AUCTION will be 11-3 p.m. Saturday at Westwood High School, 180 Turkey Farm Road, Blythewood. The event presented by Redhawks Football Booster Club will include food, inflatables, a live auction and music. Blood drives will take place 3-7:30 p.m.. today at Columbia First SDA Church, 243 Riverchase Way, Lexington; 2-7 p.m. today at Circle Fire Department, 3321 Columbia Highway, Batesburg-Leesville; and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday at Dreher High School, 701 Adger Road.
