Deputies searching for suspect who used counterfeit money to purchase gift cards

Richland County deputies are requesting the community’s in locating a suspect that purchased gift cards from convenient stores using counterfeit money.

Sheriff Leon Lott said the suspect allegedly entered two stores, one located in the 8900 block of Two Notch Road and the other in the 9000 block of Two Notch Road, and purchased gift cards using the counterfeit money.

Lott said the suspect is described as a black female in her mid- to late-30s, wearing eye glasses and a black hoodie.

If anyone has information regarding the suspect’s identity and whereabouts, they are asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
