Columbia police have identified a third suspect involved in an armed robbery Thursday in which two other suspects were apprehended with the help of K-9 units.

Police Chief Skip Holbrook said 20-year-old Juan O’Brian Gilliam has been charged with armed robbery, grand larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and unlawful carrying of a pistol.

Gilliam was taken into custody Sunday evening after officers located him at a home on Gloria Trail, Holbrook said.

Gilliam’s co-defendants, 18-year-old Tareeck Hinton and 27-year-old Dominque Profit, were also taken into custody on Thursday after a K-9 team located them at a home on Barhamville Road. Both Profit and Hinton are facing the same charges as Gilliam, Holbrook said.

Holbrook said the three men allegedly stole a victim’s car, money and cell phone at gunpoint in the 3200 block of Lucius Road, near the Riverside Apartments, Thursday.
