Saluda River rising a bit for rescue training
Water levels in the lower Saluda River will be higher through April 16 for emergency rescue training.
The increase for annual training are much less than those that flooded neighborhoods last fall during record rain.
Officials at South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. urged those playing on the river to keep an eye on conditions.
SCE&G manages Lake Murray upstream – originally built for hydropower – from which the releases will occur.
