Is your favorite nonprofit participating in Midlands Gives?

More than 375 nonprofits will participate next month in the third annual Midlands Gives.

The event, a 24-hour online giving challenge to benefit nonprofit organizations around the Midlands, will be held May 3 at the new Fireflies stadium in downtown Columbia. High-energy power hours, prize giveaways and milestone celebrations will punctuate the day, along with games and contests for nonprofits and community supporters, activities for kids and families, concessions and entertainment sessions.

Roughly 250 charities in 11 counties participated last year, with $1.5 million raised – nearly double what the event raised in its inaugural year in 2014. The money is then distributed to nonprofits and communities in need throughout the Midlands.
