One dead after early-morning crash in Richland County
One person is dead after a crash in Richland County early Tuesday morning.
The incident happened at 3:45 a.m. on Vanboklen Street in lower Richland County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. A vehicle went off the right side of the road, over-corrected, went off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole.
The driver was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated, Lance Cpl. David Jones said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt, Jones said.
