Ladybugs are good bugs ... really

Students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool had some creepy, crawly, cuddly fun on Earth Day, as students at the private Richland County school released 4,500 ladybugs.

The release came after students learned why the friendly insects are important to the environment.

Ladybugs eat crop pests and crop killers, such as aphids, and might eat upward of 5,000 aphids in their yearlong lifetime.
