Natural gas rupture closes part of North Main Street in Columbia

A portion of North Main Street in Columbia was closed Tuesday morning as firefighters responded to a natural gas rupture.

The affected area was the 2300 to 2500 blocks of North Main Street, according to the Columbia Fire Department.

SCE&G mitigated the leak, and responders opened the street back up around 9:13 a.m.
