Body recovered from ocean near Myrtle Beach State Park
The body of a man estimated to be between 25 to 35 years old was pulled from the ocean early Friday morning near Myrtle Beach State Park.
Rescue crews responded to a drowning call about 4:30 a.m., and the man was recovered from the water.
He had not been identified hours later, and officials have not confirmed that he is the missing swimmer who was last seen struggling in the ocean near 29th Avenue South Tuesday night, or a man from Rock Hill who was recently reported missing.
The victim’s body was transported from the scene, and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday, said Horry County Coroner Robert Edge.
