UPDATE: Missing Sumter woman has been located and is safe

Sumter police report that 72-year-old Bryne Sumter has been located and is safe.

Sumter, who suffers from dementia, had been reported missing by her daughteron Monday after she was last seen leaving a hotel Sunday.

Officials said Sumter suffers from dementia and other health issues that require medication. She is known to stay at local hotels and motels and relies on the Santee-Wateree Regional Transportation Authority buses to travel.
