Columbia’s only indoor public pool will reopen next Saturday after a $1 million renovation.

The Drew Wellness Center pool reopens Saturday, June 4, at 11 a.m. with a celebration that also will honor the center’s 10th anniversary.

The pool closed last fall to undergo renovations that included replastering the pool and deck, installing LED lighting in the pool, new lockers, better lighting along the mezzanine that overlooks the gym and repainting rusty ceiling beams.

The renovations are the first major upgrades since the $8.5 million center opened in December 2005.

Memberships, as well as daily passes, are available to the center. Find information on the cost of each at www.columbiasc.net/drew-wellness.
