Two charged with murder in Zimalcrest Drive shooting

Two men were charged Tuesday in the shooting death last week of 22-year-old Antago Jennings.

Fingerprint evidence at the scene led deputies to Darian Young, 26, of Irmo and Jimar Curry, 39, of Irmo, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said in a news release Tuesday.

Young and Curry were acquaintances of Jennings who was shot “ after a drug-related altercation,” Lott stated.

Deputies were called to the Crossroads Apartments on the reports of shots fired. Jennings was found near his vehicle with a gunshot to the lower body. He died about an hour later at Palmetto Health Richland hospital.

Young and Curry were being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center Tuesday evening.
