Repairs to Livingston Road bridge in Newberry County can be quickly completed

A “minor washout” on the approach to the Livingston Road Bridge on Livingston Road in Newberry County has closed the road to traffic, the sheriff’s department said.

An inspection by the South Carolina Department of Transportation engineers determined that repairs can be made and the bridge and road probably reopened by week’s end.

Livingston Road runs between US 176 and SC 34 and is east of Newberry.
