Hinson gets help from Haleys in Lexington County clerk of court race
Emily Hinson’s quest to become Lexington County clerk of court received high-powered help Wednesday.
Gov. Nikki Haley and husband Michael signaled their endorsement of fellow Republican Hinson with what the candidate said is a $100 donation.
Hinson “has everything it takes to do a fantastic job as the next clerk of court and keep Lexington moving in the right direction,” Haley said.
Haley is a former state representative from Lexington County who occasionally backs candidates there.
“I really appreciate the governor’s support and help,” Hinson said.
Hinson faces Lisa Comer in the GOP runoff election Tuesday to succeed Beth Carrigg, who is retiring.
Both Comer and Hinson are former assistants to Carrigg.
