The top two candidates to fill Kelvin Washington’s former seat on Richland County Council will face off for the fourth and final time in Tuesday’s runoff election.

Attorney Dalhi Myers and former longtime councilwoman Bernice Scott meet again on the ballot in council District 10, which covers the majority of Lower Richland.

Myers beat Scott in a special runoff election two weeks ago to finish out Washington’s vacated term, which ends in January. Tuesday’s runoff will decide who is likely to serve a four-year council term beginning in January. There are no Republican challengers in District 10 slated for the November general election.

Myers has bested Scott, a 20-year council veteran, in vote totals in three elections so far: the special primary election May 31, the special runoff June 14 and the general primary June 14.
