Man lying in the road, struck and killed

A man who was lying in the road was struck by a vehicle and killed early Sunday morning, according to the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office.

Keon Moultrie, 28, was lying in the roadway on Highway 17-A at 3:30 a.m. when he was struck, said Berkeley County Chief Deputy Coroner George Oliver, adding the Jamestown resident died on the scene from head trauma.

Moultrie’s death was ruled accidental, according to Oliver, who said the incident was investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and SC Highway Patrol.
