Deputies arrest wife of man charged in serial burgling case
The wife of a man who was recently charged in a string of thefts – dating back at least to 2014 – was arrested Monday.
Mossie Overstreet-Green, 55, turned herself in to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department on Two Notch Road, officials said. She is the wife of Samuel Henry Green Jr., 56, who was arrested Wednesday.
Overstreet-Green is charged with receiving stolen goods valued at $10,000 or more. This charge stems from thefts which officials say Brooks Easterling, 35, committed across the Midlands. Officials said Monday that Overstreet-Green had several items from the Easterling burglaries in her possession.
Easterling is charged with 17 counts of burglary and 17 counts of larceny, and Samuel Green is charged with accessory after the fact of burglary first degree, two counts of possession of Schedule II substances, one count of Schedule IV substances, possession of certain persons unlawful and unlawful possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent offense, according to the sheriff’s department.
Officials said Monday that more charges are expected against Samuel Green as the investigation continues.
