A federal judge has sentenced a man to 10 years in prison for prostituting a girl in Virginia.

The Justice Department said Tuesday that Travis Contrell Brown also got 10 years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender.

The 25-year-old had pleaded guilty to sex trafficking crimes in June. According to court documents, Brown met the under-age girl through friends at a hotel room party where she was plied with drugs and alcohol.

Brown and another man then bought her lingerie and posted photos of her on the internet that advertised sex acts for sale. He then oversaw her acts of prostitution in Virginia Beach hotels, setting appointments and collecting the money she earned.

Virginia Beach police eventually rescued her. Brown is from Columbia, South Carolina.
