Richland County deputies arrested a man Wednesday morning after they say he stole $160 worth of beer from a gas station on Rosewood Drive on multiple occasions.

Kenneth Lindsey, 51, is charged with strong arm robbery and shoplifting. He was taken into custody around 10 a.m. at a home on Thornwell Court, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

Lindsey is responsible for four incidents at the Circle K at 3800 Rosewood Drive, according to the sheriff’s department. Sheriff Leon Lott said investigators were able to identify Lindsey thanks to help from the community.

The first theft happened on Aug. 27, where Lindsey is accused of trying to steal a case of beer, then attacking a store clerk who tried to stop him. He left, then returned a short time later and stole a case of beer, deputies said.

The next incident happened Aug. 28. Lindsey stole two cases of beer from the gas station, officials said.

The third theft was Sept. 2, when deputies say Lindsey stole two cases of beer, then returned a short time later and stole three more cases.

The final incident was Sept. 4, when officials say he stole two cases of beer.
