Lexington County sheriff investigating death at residence

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a death at a residence.

At noon, deputies responded to call from a residence on Emory Lane, which is located near Irmo High School and St. Andrews Road, and feeds into Harbison Boulevard. A person went to the home and called the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department about the death, according to digital communications coordinator Colby Gallagher, who added few details will be made available until an autopsy is performed.

Gallagher wouldn’t say if the death was the result of a crime, only confirming that an investigation is underway, which is standard procedure for any death.
