A Batesburg-Leesville man suspected in a number of daytime burglaries was charged Friday, Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said in a news release.

Quindell Tyquan Dozier, 22, is accused of taking guns, jewelry and electronic equipment from homes in Batesburg-Leesville and Gilbert during October and September this year.

Sheriff Koon said investigators thought they were dealing with one culprit early on.

“This series of burglaries happened during daylight hours at houses a bit off the beaten path,” he said.

Some of the stolen items have been returned to their owners, Koon said.

He recommended that people who own firearms or electronic equipment write down serial numbers so that if items are stolen, they can be more easily returned if authorities find them.

Dozier was being held Friday night on 5 counts of burglary at the Lexington County Detention Center. Bond was set at $130,000.
