Agency contractor accused of taking state money for personal use had charges dropped

A state agency contractor has been charged with breach of trust, according to the S.C. State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).
The contractor was arrested Wednesday and charged with Breach of Trust with fraudulent intent, value $10,000 or more in connection with unauthorized use of state funds.
The Department of Disabilities and Special Needs contracted with a provider for support services.
Authorities say an audit of the program’s operating account showed invoices with payments to the defendant for personal expenses of more than $10,000.
If convicted, the defendant could face up to 10 years in prison. She was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
