Suspect wanted for armed robbery at Garners Ferry Road bank

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an armed robbery at a bank Monday morning.

Just before 10 a.m., a man robbed the Safe Federal Bank at 7836 Garners Ferry Road, next to a BI-LO, according to public information liaison Lt. Curtis Wilson.

The suspect had a gun and demanded cash before fleeing on foot, Wilson said.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the incident.
