Deputies arrested a man they believe sexually assaulted an incapacitated woman, and there may be more victims and charges on the horizon.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department announced officers arrested Solomon Tadesse Yemame, 28, Wednesday and charged him with third degree criminal sexual conduct.

Investigators were notified on May 27 of a suspected sexual assault at an apartment at 1050 Southern Drive, The Village apartments.

Acquaintances of the victim told deputies they found her with her undergarments off and then took her to a local hospital.

Investigators believe the victim was mentally incapacitated when she was sexually assaulted during a social gathering at an apartment, according to the department.

Deputies also used DNA evidence in this case, according to a news release from the department. Investigators are looking into other sexual assault cases that may involve Yemame.

Additional charges may be forthcoming.

Yemame was booked into Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
