One of South Carolina’s most iconic landmarks was the scene of an unusual incident Sunday.

A woman climbed the Angel Oak tree and screamed obscenities, according to an online report. The Angel Oak tree is reportedly the oldest living thing located east of the Mississippi River.

Officers responded to the incident on Johns Island, near Charleston, at 11 a.m. Police said the woman climbed the fence at the closed park and climbed the tree to a limb 35-feet above the ground, according to www.live5news.com.

“Rapport was established and at approx. 4 p.m. she came down without incident via a (Charleston Fire Department) ladder,” Charleston Police Department officials said to live5news.

She was transported to the hospital for evaluation and no injuries were reported.
