Coroner IDs victim of early Sunday morning shooting

The Richland County Coroner has released the name of the person killed in an early Sunday morning shooting.

Randall R. Brown, 34, was found in the 5000 block of Brickyard Road, which is near Monticello Road, around 3:20 a.m. Sunday morning, Coroner Gary Watts said. Brown died from complications of a gunshot wound to the upper body.

When deputies arrived to the scene, they found a man laying in the roadway with a gunshot wound to his upper body, Sgt. Kevin Lawrence, a Richland County Sheriff’s Department spokesman, said.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office pronounced the victim dead at the scene, Lawrence said.

Richland County investigators are following leads in the area by questioning witnesses and family members of the victim.
