Four Midlands-area men were charged in North Augusta after being stopped in a vehicle reported stolen in Richland County, the Aiken Standard newspaper reported.

While on the way to a reported auto break-in early Tuesday, North Augusta police tried to stop a silver Honda, which was driving with the high beams on. The car failed to stop, leading to a chase on I-20.

When it finally stopped at the 2 mile marker, the vehicle’s tires were flat, the police report stated.

Police discovered that the car had been reported stolen in Richland County.

Charged with being in possession of a stolen car and failing to stop for blue lights was 17-year-old Jaren Meyers of Gaston.

Charged with tamping with a motor vehicle were Adam Yahya, 17, of West Columbia, Parris Sutton, 19, and Anthony Nelson, 22, both of Gaston.

Police found a handgun, four sets of gloves, a ski mask and two screw drivers inside the vehicle, the reported stated.
