A man was so drunk that he broke into someone else’s home thinking that it was his, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Officers responded around 2:30 a.m. on July 13 to a home invasion on the 100 block of South Pickens Street, which is in the Hollywood-Rose Hill area near Assembly Street and Rosewood Drive, according to a police report. They found the suspect, who was “grossly intoxicated” and had mistaken the house for his own, the report states.

While trying to get into the home, the suspect broke a pane of glass on one door and two panes of glass on another door, police said. Damage was estimated at $300.
