Body found on I-77, 1 NB lane closed
Authorities are investigating the death of a man found lying in a ditch on Interstate 77.
The man, who has not been identified, was found in the Northbound lanes of I-77 at mile marker 19 around 10:45 a.m. by construction workers who were surveying the area, said Lt. Curtis Wilson, spokesman for the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
No additional information was immediately available, because the investigation is in its preliminary stages.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation reports the right lane near mile marker 19 is closed.
